Our CEO
Christopher Plum, Ph.D.Â
Â
Dr. Plum is co-owner of GPS Solutions and has served as an elementary, middle school, high school and university educator as well as an assistant principal, principal, chief academic officer, and superintendent. Dr. Plum holds a Ph.D. in K-12 Educational Leadership and an M.A. in Educational Psychology.Â
His accomplishments include -
- - Creating a district-wide vision of readiness for all students
- - Directing support services programming
- - Curricula creation
- - Leading NCA accreditation
- - Launching a district-wide K-12 Mandarin Language Program
- - Designing innovative staffing programs
- - Launching and staffing a high school in Detroit which graduated nearly 100% of its     students, sending 90% of graduates to 2-4 year colleges and universities
Dr. Plum is most proud of his on-going work aimed at restoring and growing learners of ages, building community in and outside of school walls, and positively impacting the field of educationÂ
George Tomey
Â
George holds a master’s degree in social work, a master’s in education, and has over forty-seven years as a career educator. He has been a teacher, a school social worker, and a principal at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels. He is recently retired from Ferndale Public schools, where he served as a school social worker and an administrator.
Mr. Tomey was the founding principal of University High School and led the school from its opening until his retirement. Under his leadership, University High School maintained a 98% graduation rate and a college retention rate of 80%.
In addition to his administration in public schools, Mr. Tomey also helped start a graduate program for teacher preparation through a partnership with small urban schools and the University of Michigan Flint. He currently supports the GPS Solutions CEO and Executive Leadership Team in delivering on the vision, mission, goals of the company.

 - Maintains financially compliant academic programs for multiple schools. - - Successfully carried out school management transitions.
- - Created implementation plans for school accounting, internal control, and budgeting procedures. Â

- - Has worked in school leadership for the last 10 years, most recently driving two Detroit High schools towards 90%+ graduation over 7 straight years.
- - Graduated from George Washington University with a Leadership degree and the RELAY Graduate School National Principal Supervisor Cohort.
- - Skilled in research, coaching, technology integration, social emotional learning, leadership development, and dad jokes. Â
